This program was introduced to support African students pursuing higher education, particularly MBA programs, through digital learning platforms. The initiative was originally part of the Pan-African e-Network Project (PAeNP) and has since been upgraded and renamed the e-VidyaBharati and e-AarogyaBharati (e-VBAB) Network Project, which aims to provide tele-education and telemedicine services to partner countries in Africa.
The Pimpri campus of DY Patil University Pune was among the first institutions to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), enabling its academic programs to be offered through the i-Learn platform. Under this scholarship scheme, eligible students may receive financial assistance of up to ₹2,50,000 per year, which can help cover expenses such as tuition fees, accommodation, and meals. To apply for the scholarship, candidates must complete the application process and qualify in the examination conducted under the Government of India’s program. Applicants are also required to select DPI-I while filling out the scholarship application form to access this benefit.
