Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore is one of the important colleges for higher studies in engineering and technology in Karnataka. The college was established in 2000. Acharya Institute of Technology is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. Currently, the college offers technical courses, with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.Although Acharya Institute of Technology Bangalore is a recent entrant in the field of higher education in India, it has managed to maintain its position as a prominent college in the state. Moreover, the institute has gained accreditation by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for offering high standards of education, ever since its inception. At present, the college offers undergraduate course in seven streams of engineering and postgraduate degrees in business administration, computer application and technology.
The institute is located in a 200-acre campus on Dr SarvapalliRadhakrishan Road, Hessarghatta Main Road, Bangalore. Managed by the JMJ Education Society, the Acharya Institute of Technology has built up its reputation over the years, and it is regularly listed in surveys ranking engineering colleges in Karnataka and India. B. Premanth Reddy is the Founder Chairman of the Acharya Institutes, while Mr. B.M. Reddy is the President. The Principal of the college is Dr. H.D. Maheshappa, while Dr. G.P. Prabhukumar is the Director.

The institute offers graduate, post-graduate as well as doctoral programs. The B Tech courses offered here include BE in Aeronautical, Automobile, Biotechnology, Civil, Computer Science,Construction Technology and Management, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and communication, Information Science and Mechanical Engineering. There are also M Tech programs in Computer Science, Machine Design, Digital Communication and Bio-Technology.The Acharya Institute of Technology also offers a doctoral study program in maths. In addition, it also runs MBA and MCA courses. MBA graduates are most in demand both in emerging newer corporates and also in traditionally run business houses. Starting at the middle order of the corporate ladder, the scope for scaling up is quick. The specializations offered in the programme enable quick vertical growth and also help in pursuing part-time academics for further fine-tuning the knowledge in one’s chosen area.
The faculty is highly experienced and committed. Most of them have an industrial as well as an academic background. Most of the faculty members regularly publish their papers in various journals.
